Thanks for the report. But there is not enough information there to
debug the problem. We would at least need to know what version of su
you are using, whether you compiled it yourself or if it came with a
distribution, and other information such as that. For a start, what
is the output of these commands?
uname -a
type su
su --version
test -f /usr/bin/dpkg && dpkg -S /bin/su
test -f /bin/rpm && rpm -qf /bin/su
