Hello and thank you for developing Stow.
You're welcome, and very sorry for the slow reply. These days I'm
processing my Stow backlog in batches every 6-12 months. You can
blame Donald Knuth for giving me the idea ;-)
I just began using version
2.2.2 with Perl v5.24.1 and noticed the stow directory name is not
allowed to begin with a period (e.g. ".stow" as opposed to "stow").
Stow gives an error that reads "WARNING: skipping protected directory
." and immediately aborts operation. Is this intended behavior? If
so, what is the rationale? I was unable to find any mention of
"protected" directories in the man/info pages.
Yes, this is intended, and even documented :-)
