stow --dotfiles creates an error

Hello,

my test folder looks like this:

.
|-test
|--dot-try
|---file1
|-test2
|--dot-try
|---file2

I haven't stowed anything yet.
Running 'stow test --dotfiles' works and links '.try' to './test/dot-try'

Now running 'stow test2 --dotfiles' does not work and produces this error:
stow: ERROR: stow_contents() called with non-directory path: .dotfiles/test/.try

I'm using macOS 10.15.6 if this matters.

I hope somebody is able to fix this.
