I haven't been informed of any compromise of Savannah?
In 2000 or so. alpha.gnu.org and ftp.gnu.org got compromised at the
same time, including fencepost.
OTOH, a move away from Savannah might be an idea, since there still
doesn't seem to be any Subversion support available at Savannah
(no, arch is *not* an option).
I think it is a terrible idea. Savannah is the offical place for GNU
project, having each and every GNU project on a different server is
silly. If you want Subversion support, help implement it. There are
plans for it.
Anyway, Freenode has an increasing number of splits, and lilo spams
the users quite a lot.
I haven't seen lilo spam anyone, if you don't like the wallops,
disable them. This is a horribly bad reason. Can you give any
techincal reasons instead of personal ones?
Splits are a nautral thing on big big IRC networks.
Both Savannah and Freenode are the offical places for GNU source code
repositories and IRC time wastage. Why would do you want to make GNU
Sysutils hard to find and get help with for users?
