[Bug-tar] Prb with tar

Hi,

I have used tar under solaris 8 to save all my work and I used -n option (I'm not sure!) to deal with files with filaname longer than 255.

Now I'm trying to extract those files under Linux system but the problem is that this version of tar (1.13.25) replace all the files with filename length more than 255 with numbers!!!!

What can I do?

1- Is there any latest version of tar who do this?

2- Can I download tar command under solaris and use it uder Linux (I don't this that it's possible). If yes, can you give me the link please?

3- Are there any other option of tar linux command or a combination of commands that do this work?
