[Bug-tar] Problem which using gnu tar

Hi,

I am facing a peculiar problem while using gnu tar.

It starts taring+gzing but ends with giving following error message.

../tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

I am using following syntax

../tar -cvzf FILENAME.tar.gz /PATH

I am on Solaris 8 with following patch level

# uname -a
SunOS del01cm 5.8 Generic_117000-01 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210

Is there any troubleshoting tips available for gnu tar ?
