Take tar 1.18, add the rev. 1.63/1.64 change to src/names.c, run
make test.  It will get stuck here:

 19: extracting symlinks over an existing file    


(I should try a complete HEAD version checked out from CVS, but I
haven't gotten around yet to setting up the environment the bootstrap
script expects.)
