In GNU tar   1.25 the following command the –C (chg-dir) does not work.

   tar -b 128 -T /tmp/archive_list.txt -C /dir-to-archive -V volume-name --totals -cvRf /dev/nst0

 

 

In GNU tar   1.25 the following command the –C (chg-dir) does work.

   tar -b 128  -C /dir-to-archive -V volume-name --totals -cvRf /dev/nst0   /file-to-archive

 

Both of these commands work in GNU tar 1.15.1
