Yes, that's why I plan to include both paxutils and gnulib as git
modules, instead of just cloning them.

I will try to add some buffering to genfiles, that could alleviate the

Sure, the only problem is that in fact we don't know how long it will
take, and it is rather hard to estimate. But I agree that some warning
is clearly in place here.
