Hi Paul,
Thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated!! I was able to get tar to
compile successfully, however there were still some error messages during
compilation:
CC basename-lgpl.o
CC stripslash.o
CC exclude.o
"exclude.c", line 673: warning: assignment type mismatch:
pointer to function(pointer to struct exclude {pointer to struct
exclude_segment {..} head, pointer to struct pattern_buffer {..} patbuf},
pointer to const char, int) returning void "=" pointer to void
"exclude.c", line 691: warning: argument #6 is incompatible with prototype:
prototype: pointer to void : "exclude.c", line 617
argument : pointer to function(pointer to struct exclude {pointer to
struct exclude_segment {..} head, pointer to struct pattern_buffer {..}
patbuf}, pointer to const char, int) returning void
CC exitfail.o
CC chmodat.o
CC chownat.o
Also, as Dago pointed out there are some failures when running the tests:
ERROR: 167 tests were run, 7 failed (2 expected failures), 21 tests were
skipped.
The following tests are the ones that failed for me: 25, 65, 87, 161, 163. I
have attached the testsuite.log.
Again, thanks for the help!
Cheers,
Ted Carr
