This is a false positive, sorry for that! It is caused by the fact that the Debian build system tries to "upgrade" files relevant for building packages. The relevant files would be:

dpkg-source: info: local changes detected, the modified files are:
 texinfo_orig/doc/stamp-1
 texinfo_orig/doc/stamp-2
 texinfo_orig/doc/stamp-vti
 texinfo_orig/doc/version-stnd.texi
 texinfo_orig/doc/version-texi2any_api.texi
 texinfo_orig/doc/version.texi
 texinfo_orig/man/makeinfo.1
 texinfo_orig/man/texindex.1
 texinfo_orig/po_document/ca.po
 texinfo_orig/tp/Texinfo/XS/TestXS.c

Not sure how many of these files are generated and do not need to be part of the original tar ball.

Thanks for help,
  Hilmar
