[Bug-XBoard] WinBoard 'en passent' error? |

Hi,
I've found what I believe is an error in
implementation of the 'en passent' rule in WinBoard
4.2.7....
If a pawn advances by 2 squares on its initial
move, it can subsequently be taken 'en passent' AT ANY
TIME. e.g. If White opens with e4, Black can do :-
1. (e4), d5,
2. (h3), d4,
3. (h4), dxe4(e.p.)
The FIDE rules state (My Capitals):-
A pawn attacking a square crossed by an opponent`s
pawn which has advanced two squares in one move from
its original square may capture this opponent`s pawn
as though the latter had been moved only one square.
THIS CAPTURE IS ONLY LEGAL ON THE MOVE FOLLOWING THIS
ADVANCE and is called an `en passant` capture.
I did a quick search on the savannah site and couldn't
find this mentioned.
Cheers,
Simon P.
