Specifying -fUCI is something you should definitely NOT do when you use Fairy-Max, as this is not a UCI engine.

Hi,
Serve is first move, like in tennis. I like it!

Did Javier remember to specify -fUCI when setting up the engine?

I have no idea what you mean by "making a serve", but "broken pipe" usually means that the engine you are using crashed, so that XBoard can no longer communicate with it.

If you want us to say something sensible about this, you should start XBoard with the extra option -debug, and mail us the xboard.debug file that will be created by this. From that file we could see what you have been doing, and where the problem lies.

Hello
In Fedora 39. also in Fedora 38, as soon as I installed the program, when I try to start it (xboard runs fine) when you make a serve, for example, pawn 4
king, the message "broken pipe" appears.
It's a bit frustrating, because it's the best of the Linux chess boards.
Thank you.
