[Chicken-users] aclocal error

Hi.

I am trying to use the CVS version under i386 Linux.
After a fresh check out, I entered the commands from autocvs:
> libtoolize --force --copy --automake
> aclocal
aclocal: configure.in: 19: macro `AM_PROG_LIBTOOL' not found in library

How can I fix this error?

libtool 1.4.2, automake 1.7, autoconf 2.54 are in my path, but
in non-standard locations.
