Coming back and testing 1.1.2 and 1.1.4 I can't reproduce this...

I guessed wrongly: the bug is caused by setting spill-over: the
workaround is to turn off spill-over (Edit->Change Preferences->Command
Behavior->Spill Notes Over ....)
