If you don't find the LilyPond syntax daunting then View->LilyPond will
be useful to you. You can edit there and see the full context of what
you are doing.
Unfortunately on Windows you don't get your syntax errors highlighted in
the window, but there is an errors pane at the bottom which usually
tells you what you have done wrong.
