.. and perhaps I should have said that you can do this without going at
all techie:
* Go through the movements setting the smaller size that you want
on the staff(s) that you want. (Staffs/Voices->Staff
Properties->Set Staff Size)
* Go to View->Score Layout and click customize and choose a name
for your layout. Click Typeset to check it is as you would wish.
* Then go back to the movements and change the staff sizes back to
normal
* Click Typeset in the Print View and choose the Default Score
Layout or your new layout as you wish.
It's just that if you have several movements and several solo staffs
this is a bit tedious...
