No, I had no real purpose in building Denemo for Raspberry Pi, I was
just intrigued to see if it was easy to do. And apart from changing
guile-1.8 to guile-2.0 I could do it straight from the instructions on
denemo.org
But as I say, this showed up something strange: Portaudio couldn't find
the audio output - I'm used to having to specify where the audio output
should go on Unix systems, via the Preferences, but this time I
couldn't hear the output via any in-built audio interface. And, as I
say, even Portaudios basic test patest1.c didn't work.

That's interesting - I had to look up ALS and eye tracking control, so
you can tell it is not something I'm familiar with! Denemo started as
very keyboard-centric and has acquired mouse features only gradually.
It still doesn't do any of the new gesture stuff that touch-screens
have. And its MIDI output is quite primitive - intended for checking
the score is correct by listening for wrong notes/rhythms. LilyPond has
somewhat better MIDI output, which is what the Playback View uses.
