Actually, this has made me think about how people coming from Sibelius
et al find Denemo strange - those programs are enhanced drawing
programs. So if they want to show a # in front of a note they think of
this as a drawing problem - where is the command to draw a #? (There is
one in Denemo, of course, but it would be a very bad idea to use it for
this, because you would have to tell the typesetter to make space for
the # you want to draw and ... and ...). Instead in Denemo/LilyPond you
have to think "What does this # sign mean?" if it means you are
cautioning the player or reminding him that this is sharp then you need
to tell Denemo/LilyPond about that with some command. Once Denemo knows
that this note should have a reminder then you can be confident that
LilyPond will typeset it nicely, following all the conventions needed.
Just pushing a sharp sign in front of the note will not do that - you
couldn't transpose it for example (it would become a natural sign
possibly ...)
