I should have mentioned that when you are beginning with playing in
rhythms it is good to start by just playing a short amount of the
rhythm - say one bar and immediately play in the pitches, then continue
with another bar of rhythm. You don't have to re-position the cursor to
start entering the pitches.
Once you are playing in rhythms confidently you can do a whole line at
a time and then more. I now frequently enter the whole of a movement
before playing in the pitches, but I've been doing it for years.
