Excellent explanation, thanks! I'm afraid it would seem that I've
caused this by a development in the code - it generates valid code on
denemo version 2.5.0, so you can workaround it by using that.

I'll investigate what has caused the "\new ChordStaff" bit of LilyPond
syntax to move to the wrong place. At the moment it means mirrored
staff is incompatible with Chord Staff :(
