Re: memory surprise; help a struggling newbie

I just tried a case where I use an sprintf() to build up the cString 
first, and then create the NSString with stringWithCString:. This runs 
about 2x the speed of the original. But it still consumes memory like 
it's going out of style. Just 2x faster now :)
