I have to agree with this. The last couple of months I converted a 
couple of people from MS Office to OpenOffice and to my surprise they 
stuck with OpenOffice because it had less features which made them 
(feel) more productive. They could find options easier and they could do 
with it what they wanted to do with it (mainly write documents).

It was a nice lesson for me. Keep It Simple Stupid seems to be a 
paradigm that is true, even for (l)users. An app should get the work 
done, nothing more.

So it is not about the look. It's about what you can do.
