Hi All,

I have been playing around with the language settings and looked inside the translate.class, it seems that en_US, fr_FR and es_ES are required languages, fr_FR and es_ES don't fall back to en_US. I can't find anything in the wiki about this.

If I'm wright, should we:

You are right.

1. Adapt wiki with a notice these are required languages.
2. Adapt translate.class to also fall-back fr_FR and es_ES to en_US

I'm in favor of the second, when we PR to GIT or create external modules we don't need to take care of the three languages when creating lang tokens. We won't see any tokens in French and Spanish and Transifex will take care of the correct translations for Dolibarr core. I think this is also Raphael's idea.

Current behaviour was justified a long time ago when french translation were more complete than en_US. Now, this is no more true, and we can remove the "no fallback" for fr_FR and es_ES.

Also not that language xx_YY will first switch to xx_XX before looking into en_US.

Francis

I'm not ready for Spanish so I'm going to put a workaround to show en_US: Snippet if ($langs->getDefaultLang() == "es_ES") { $langs->setDefaultLang(); } When debugging we mostly have access to the source, so I rename the langs dir to xlangs and I'm seeing all the tokens. Hi all,

When using a language for which translations are unavailable, Dolibarr
displays the translation token instead (At least in external modules).

It would be better if it used a fallback language instead (let's say en_US)
so it displays human readable informations instead of -sometimes- cryptic
tokens.

What's your take on it?

Cheers,

Hi all:

Would you mind creating the version 3.5.4 and 3.6.0 in doliforge so that
we can file bug reports to those specific versions?
Done!

Thanks!
