Hello all,

Recently I was into reverse engineering. It developed interest in Linking, Loading &  binary formats (PE/COFF, ELF).  I've studied & explored these formats.
I want to get a hands on experience with linker & binary formats. I was searching for Gnu binutils(`ld` & `gold`)  but landed up on the GSoC page: http://www.gnu.org/software/soc-projects/ideas-2009.html#dotgnu

I'm interested in "libJIT ELF writer". From the archives I could see that, its been a pending task since 2006. I want to know its current status? If its done, I could also add support for other binary container formats like PE/COFF.

After browsing through. I'm little confused too. Is this project still under active development? Because, I found few dead links. Less activity in mailing lists. No recent releases. I'm even not completely sure if I'm in correct mailing list.

Somebody please clarify and give me a kick start. I'm going through the project and getting familiar but please suggest any documentation that I should be reading for clear understanding.

By the way. I'm not new to programming using C,C++, C# .NET.

Regards,
Dilip Kumar
