(emacs:358061): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 16:46:31.241: gtk_distribute_natural_allocation: assertion 'extra_space >= 0' failed

On Ubuntu 20.10, I compiled the git master version of emacs and set
the following in ~/.emacs.d/init.el:

  (global-visual-line-mode t)

But I noticed that when I use eww to browse some websites, say,
https://www.vpngate.net, then the following error will be triggered:

  (emacs:358061): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 16:46:31.241:
gtk_distribute_natural_allocation: assertion 'extra_space >= 0' failed

As a result, the wrap lines setting for visual line mode will be
disabled and will not have any effect. Any hints for this problem?
