Re: Emacs Mac port

This is an announcement of the release of the Mac port of GNU Emacs.
It is not provided by the official Emacs project, unlike the macOS GUI
support via the NextStep port.  They are different in feature sets,
development policy, design, and history.

The Mac port based on Emacs 29.1 is now available from

and Git repository is also available at

The Mac port based on Emacs 28.3 Release Candidate 1 is also
available from

  ftp://ftp.math.s.chiba-u.ac.jp/emacs/emacs-28.3-rc1-mac-9.2.tar.gz

The corresponding branch in the Git repository is `mac-28'.

Based on Emacs 29.1.
Currently, pixel-based mouse wheel smooth scrolling and pinch gesture
are supported via traditional Mac port code rather than newly-added
upstream one.  This may change in a future version.
WebP image support does not require libwebp on macOS 11 and later.

*** Wrong live resize transition and export to PDF on macOS 14 Beta.

Based on Emacs 28.3 Release Candidate.

*** mouse-drag-and-drop-region across frames does not work.

*** Selection is not properly converted to filename pasteboard data.

*** Wrong sign extension in converting Apple Event bytes to integer.

*** Freeze on macOS 12 and later when waking up from sleep with a
fullscreen frame on a secondary display.
