Ah! Using these lines, or even just the first one, did get rid of the "via:"
prompt, but the messages never got delivered, even though emacs
said they had been sent.
Then it occurred to me ... D'oh! I just added
(load-file "~/.gnus.el")
That worked! Sorry for the oversight.
