[emms-help] players suddenly gone wrong...

I recently started using emms 3 with emacs 23 on ubuntu and everything
was going OK until today...I used easytag to write tags on a lot of
files then moved all my files around into folders
based on the metadata, deleted the emms cache and loaded them all
again. Now none of them will play, although they still play fine in other 
players. mp3s and oggs both give me this
kind of error:

emms-player-start: Don't know how to play track: (*track* (type
. playlist) (name . "/dave-disk/music/1964 Folk Roots New Routes
(CD-OR)/03 The Cherry Tree Carol.mp3") (metadata))  

I am loading emms-devel and emms-default-players. Please let me know
how to fix this, I was just getting into it!
