[Erw-devel] preUpdate hooks

So, I have a relationship:

students -> grades <- classes

I can, of course, edit the grades from either side -- open the student, 
or open the class.  I can't, however, get a preUpdate hook to fire -- 
because the update is on classes or students, it doesn't catch the 
grades update hook.  A tweak to update.php isn't exactly 
straightforward, from my thinking.  Any thoughts?
