Hello Teemu:
I gave a first look to the new "announcements page" in the new FLS3
version.
it seems a good idea and it looks interesting, the only comments is that I
could not find a way for going straight from inside FLE to the
"announcement page". I have to go to course information, I would preffer
going from anytime from knowledge building.
Regards
Hector Botero

Hello all,
We are very close to release a new version of Fle3 (1.4.6.) and would
like you to take part in testing of it. The test server is online at:
http://turing.uiah.fi:9673/fle146test/
Username (staff): Simo
Password: saara
The most visible change in the new version is the new course
announcement page. You can visit the page at:
http://turing.uiah.fi:9673/fle146test/courses/1/announcements/
The announcement page is a "teachers course blog" for announcing
students about events, todos and other urgent things in the course. The
page is available online without login to Fle3. This way it is a kind
of "course front/home page" updated by the teachers. The idea is that
by following this page students can keep on track what the teacher/tutor
is expecting them to do next in the course.
The announcement page is using all the brilliant blog technology such as
RSS syndication, trackbacks, etc. Like blogs do, also the announcement
page is automatically building up an archive of the entries made to the
page.
If you have comment please post them to these lists or straight to me.
If you find a bug please report it too the bug collector at:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?group_id=1942
I am going to test the new version already in a workshop starting 24th
of January. So somewhere close to that day the new version will be
officially released.
BTW: We are still missing some translations - so if you find that the
translation of your language is not completed in the test site, maybe
you may work on it.
Best regards,
- Teemu
