Anyone else here know more about this?

Also I am still chasing up the organisation in Brighton who apparently
wanted to hold a national free software event for community based IT
stuff.

[Tim: I am a lurker of the Lugmasters list and feel this list (affs) is
also a suitable place to follow this up]

Anybody got any ideas ? This has been bouncing around the SBLUG list
recently, it seems to me we need some kind of a response. Mike is trying
to get hold of an original copy of the document so we can find out what
is actually being said.

I thought you all might be interested to hear that the NCVO, National Council
for Voluntary Organizations, has sent out a circular to voluntary organizations
saying that if they are considering switching their software over to open
source then don't, as the security isn't adequate. If this is the case I would
think they should send out a circular telling people not to use windows either,
and that they should consider moving to some obscure system like ZX81's as they
can't even connect to the net.
