Hi

I've succesfully compiled GCL without warnings or errors after
replacing all calls to FEerror with the more detailed calls to
Icall_error_handler, specifying the error-name, format string etc,
throughout the code base (including lsp/*.c cmpnew/*.c).  Ouch.

The resulting image is ... um ... fragile. No sudden movements,
please! Stage 2 is to update all the other FE<xyz> calls.

Stage 3 will be an attempt to compile maxima and acl2 ...
