That's indeed a great idea.
We already talked about keyboard shortcuts in general,
i can't recall exactly but i guess i suggested to implement
the 'dynamic shortcut applying' feature of gtk-2. You can
see how it works in Gimp, there's a preferences -> Interface
option where you can activate it. Then you can press any shortcut
combination on any menu entry (including last opened files) to
assign it to the respective action. It works great for me but there
may be disadvantages too (cause it's disabled in most gtk-2
apps AFAIR).
