I think I found the cause for your problem:
The module libgnomevfs2-extra in Jessie seems to have no samba support,
as stated here:
https://packages.debian.org/en/jessie/libgnomevfs2-extra
In comparison, in squeeze it has:
https://packages.debian.org/en/squeeze/libgnomevfs2-extra
I would ask the maintainers of libgnomevfs2-extra in Jessie if they will
add samba support for this package again. You could claim that Gnome
Commander needs this to work with samba shares.
