Subject: | [Glug-nith-discuss] why fortran is still a good choice |

I use FORTRAN for coding computational fluid dynamics problems and some people recently said that C/C++ are faster so i was thinking to shift. But after reading these pages I felt I was doing wrong and came to know why still Fortran is better than C/C++. Fortran is still a good programming language for Numerical analysis. Even it has many optimised in-built linear algebra functions which make programmer's life easy. http://scienceblogs.com/goodmath/2006/11/the_c_is_efficient_language_fa.php http://latticeqcd.blogspot.com/2006/11/why-we-use-fortran-and-python.html Regards -- G V Manu
