No, I'm not aware of that...

So why are you claiming that an OS X port "needs" ffmpeg? I'm sure you
must have better things to do than spreading FUD.

"The one who knows everything is aware of the thing he doesn't know about."

I make my remarks and claims after what I know and there is always someone who will try proving you wrong, sometimes you're right other times not. However
I'm still not sure if the iPhone will have gstreamer support or not.

Governments spread FUD intentionally, people rarely do.

I thought gstreamer and gnome was tainted
to each other (and yes there is a gnome port to OS X but not native).

Incorrect, Gstreamer depends on glib2, which in turn depends only on the
availability of a C library.

Correct but incorrect. ;)
I checked this up, and yes glib2 is the only dependency.
But how can an assumption really be incorrect since it's a tristate- statement? :)

However I refuse to install it :), and as Hong Yu pointed out(?):
ffmpeg is better for embedded-integration, like the iPhone. And those
OSes that hasn't got gst-support yet.

I'm sure there are circumstances in which ffmpeg is preferable to
Gstreamer. But there are very few, and OS X is not one of them; this is
not negated by your refusal to install it.

It's indeed not negated by my refusal if you easily can link gstreamer static for bundling.

I don't know how gstreamer perform (if all) for example nor on Haiku- OS neither on embedded
Linux (with a various configurations and CPU's).

But you're wrong on the point where-ever there are very few OSes/ cases, lots of RTOSes (and other commercial embedded variants) won't have gstreamer support in the upcoming decade if ever. (Maybe QNX will... ;))
