Were your tests with swf animations or streaming video ?

In general, does anyone have any good idea to make gnash do the best it can?

As a start, I managed to beat oprofile into a streaming video performance test. You can see that log here: http://www.gnashdev.org/testcases/oprof_gnash_all.log. Oprofile seems to be a reasonably good tool for performance analysis, it's easier than using gprof.
