dear allan,
you should know that even now it is strongly discouraged to use both
apt-get
and
aptitude
in parallel.
it is recommended to stick to one of the alternatives. the reason is that these
programs do not use the same configuration files, so that one program cannot
know what the other has done so far. this is important when it comes to
automatic deinstallation of packages which have been installed in order to
solve dependencies. (for a better explanation, use some search engine).
