I have two separate machines. I happen to like as much separation as I
can get.
I suppose that's not preferable. :)
There's a group on launchpad, as non-Free as launchpad is right now,
that was created for the explicit purpose of sending bugs upstream.
I wouldn't sign up for launchpad if you haven't already.

I believe kernel still needs some work.
After that, we begin the unenviable job of freeing universe. The only
reason I've found any universe license violations is because I stumbled
on someone else saying a package was non-free, and I found them to be
correct.
