FYI: to let gnokii users know few things

Hi,

I decided to subscribe gnokii list for a moment, send this info and
unsubscribe. There are few reasons of it:

1.during last time I had (I saw) few requests, that some gnokii
developers inform users, that some things work sometimes in mygnokii,
sometimes not.

I want to add something: some gnokii developers don't like very much
mygnokii and probably use very old versions, which could contains some
bugs. They don't develop this software and shouldn't say such things.
It's not fair.

I want to write the truth, that Picture Images work in mygnokii. All
types of it are OK. If you want to check it, you should use mygnokii
provided by me and my www, not by gnokii developers. Also all questions
for it should be redirected to me.

2.some time ago I told list about mygnokii2. There was prepared manifest
with many interesting things (gnokii developers generally agreed with
this sentence). Now mygnokii2 is going to be real software. More than
half of functions for DCT3 phones is moved from mygnokii. I inform
gnokii users, because I still see "rewriting", "fixing" and nothing
more. New mygnokii2 will be installed in Unix systems this way, that it
won't be conflicted with gnokii (different config, different command
names) and you can use both, if want. And it will really work with your
phones. There are also some plans for short future:

* DCT4 support

* making flasher based partially on mygnokii2 (maybe, but maybe not)

* ending moving DCT3 phones functions and AT module

* GUI - the same for win32 and Linux

3.I have some official requests to gnokii guys. Requests are connected
with mygnokii2:

* (this is generally to Markus Plail) I have some sniffs from DCT4
phones, I should have more soon. For people with DCT4 phones: could you
help me in collecting protocol ? Could you test mygnokii2 functions,
when there will be written ? Could you tell (on priv ?), how look
progress in gnokii connected with it ?

* this is request made again because of "good of community". Could you
look into mygnokii2, try to use it and tell, what you think ? If you
think, it's good, could you help in moving some things like 61xx/51xx
datacalls ?

Gnokii developers will say: this post is inpolite... Anyway, everyone
should have his opinion connected with it.He should check
mygnokii/mygnokii2 and gnokii and compare and select the best. And for
mygnokii/mygnokii2 ask me, not gnokii developers (there is my email
given and my email list).
