more issues with 3310

ok, i've read quite a few of the archived items
about 3310. it doesn't work for me...

3310, cable switched to 'm'.

set 'connection = m2bus'

tried both latest release and latest (jul 20 2003)
cvs.

tried two different linux boxes, one with two
serial (tried both), other with one.

tried both as regular user and root (permissions
are ok but you never know)

same setup (cable and phone) works fine with
logomanager.

... well ... that seems complete.

i keep getting:
   Telephone interface init failed: Command timed
   out.

any help?
