Nokia 30 - Unknown error when sending SMS.

Subject: Nokia 30 - Unknown error when sending SMS.

I've been trying to get a Nokia 30 to send SMS messages but continue to
get the less than helpful 'Unknown error' each time. HAs someone run
across similar problems and managed to fix this??

The device is connected via serial port to a RedHat box running kernel
2.4.20-30.9. I have installed GNOKII Version 0.6.4 and it correctly
identifies the Nokia device:

        10:39:56[netmon]# gnokii --identify
        GNOKII Version 0.6.4
        IMEI : 350775910691826
        Manufacturer : Nokia Mobile Phones
        Model : Nokia 30
        Revision : V 8.75

*** START SMSSEND ***
10:40:01[netmon]# gnokii --sendsms 99283000
GNOKII Version 0.6.4
Please enter SMS text. End your input with <cr><control-D>:testing123
SMS Send failed (Problem occured internal to model specific code.)
*** END SMSSEND ***

Enabling debug produces the following output:

What I do notice is that when the frame is being sent, there seems to be
an extra zero inserted in the middle of the number I am sending to. Is
this the normal pattern??

I've included a copy of the .gnokiirc file also.

TIA.

Iain.
