SMS numbers

Hi all.

I would like to ask you about sms's numbering in AT phones.
I have bug report for smsd that phone (huawei e220) numbers sms from 0 (to
49 in this phone, AT+CPMS="SM" returns +CPMS: 7,50,7,50,7,50). But smsd
assumes that first sms in on position 1.
Do you have any experiences how are sms's numbered in AT phones? Is the
first number always 0 or is this model dependend? Are there commands to detect
it?
