Works too, however you might possibly want to do some other content
alterations when signing (maybe even in order to enforce a policy of always
checking the signatures!), and in that case using the output of the checking
rule could be really helpful (because when not checking, tla would find a
malformed checksum file, but when checking the content transformation could
be done).
Easiest example: not clearsigning but binary signing.
