Kudos For MS Kudos Patent

Could the 21 year-old NBA Slam-Dunk Contest be in jeopardy? Microsoft
was awarded a patent Tuesday for a "Kudos scoring system with
self-determined goals" [1], which covers the awarding of points for
the style or flair with which a player performs a task in a game, ala
Project Gotham Racing 2 [2].
