The rules are different if its origin is a Berne country that is not the United States. (They'd still need to register if they wanted statutory damages and attorney fees, and registration within five years of creating the work give a rebuttable presumption that the copyright is valid and you are the owner, which is a nice thing to have). -- --Tim Smith
