Euh...
it seem to me that some "cobolists" (?)
  1/don't know the cobol rules,
 or
  2/ are too lazzy for count the lenght of their fields
 and 
  3/ should continue to use their "funny" compiler wich 
     is not able to detect some errors that OC detect.

In any case, don't broke the so good compiler for "not important"
things.

This my half cent ...
