CVS Updated

Darwin (MAC OS) does not like creating empty archives; so we add a
dummy element to satisfy this.

configure.ac was doing some wrong things which lead to :
a) not working correctly with later autoxxx tools
b) not checking DB correctly

Optimize memcpy/memset

Clean up some type casting (Not quite finished until David
gets his MAC make through)
