Mr Bob Karlin;
I understand that it is intended that PL22.4 changes its current model from
Public access of documents to restricted access for members only.
The number of documents for which I am directly interested in, is limited to
one, i.e., 20xx- Base Document for 20xx standard February 2008 (Nelson) or
its updated counterpart.
I am an author of Open Source software that supports the Open Source Cobol
compilation system known as Open Cobol (available freely on sourceforge.net)
for whom the lead programmer is Roger While.
My current products is a cross reference reporting tool also available at
sourceforge.net prior to it forming part of OC (Open Cobol) and also in early
development, a Cobol source profiler also for OC.
As OC is Open Source, it is available to all, under the GPL license for no
charge. The development of which is done entirely during Roger's and my free
time.
Currently I do not work and at 62 years old I'm unlikely to find a new posting
so I do not have funds to pay to belong to any group or service organisation
to support a product that I offer free of charge (and for which will remain
so).
I would appreciate it, that access to the above document and any other related
documents is kept freely available for both of us to read and download as
proposed changes to the standard will effect the development of OC and its
components.
I would therefore appreciate any help you can give in this matter.
